Hillary Easom

Hillary Easom started her yoga practice in the late 1990s and has been teaching since 2009. She has led thousands of classes, connecting with students at various levels of experience, from pure beginners to seasoned teachers. Hillary has taught in studios, schools, correctional facilities, medical clinics, and online.

A mother to two teenage boys, she has embraced the benefits of yoga through all phases of life and parenthood; she formerly co-owned a studio where she and her partner also trained teachers in pre- and postnatal yoga instruction. Hillary’s style is often described as nurturing, centering, grounding and inspiring. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to individualize group instruction so that each participant practices at a level that feels both comfortable and challenging. She focuses on the connection of breath and movement, balancing strength and stability, and calming the mind and nervous system.

The practice of Yoga Nidra, a deep relaxation technique, is a specialty that she offers on every retreat. Participants can also expect some yoga philosophy interspersed into each session (perhaps exploring the chakras or learning how yogic principles can positively impact our daily lives).An intrepid traveler, Hillary has spent time on all seven continents and learns something new every time she takes a trip.

She believes that interacting openly with people from different cultures and backgrounds is key to building understanding and peace. She loves connecting people and connecting with people! Past retreat offerings include Mexico, Panama, France and the Galapagos Islands.
